Infant and Toddler Program

Our infant and Toddler programs are a play based learning curriculum, where children are given developmentally appropriate materials and activities that support the child through each stage of  growth. Fine motor development is very important so we provide different activities such as sensory activities, painting, stacking toys, colouring and others. We also try to include circle time as much as possible; however, while some children are ready for circle time, others just can’t sit still, therefore, we use small group activities like book readings to help the children to adjust to it. Gross motor development is very crucial at this age, so we also encourage music activities such as dancing, playing instruments and singing songs. Transition are very important for young children so we use songs to help children to move on to the next activity. We love singing songs!  Lastly, our infant program is inspired by a Regio Emilia approach and a Montessori curriculum with a focus on a positive guidance policy.

Preschool Program

Our preschool program is  Montessori inspired and focuses on positive guidance.  Our day starts with play time as children are arriving between 6:30 and 8am.  They are welcome to have a snack and their water is always available.  This includes different areas of the class room with a Math area, Language area, Practical Life, Sensorial Development, and Culture and Sciences.  These areas overlap at times but the children have the choice to work in whichever area they chose.  We focus a lot of the day on self help skills.  Learning to do things for themselves is very important.  At around 9:15 we get ready for circle time, snack and then outside play in all kinds of weather.  We come back in for lunch, a quiet time and nap for those who need/want one.  At 3pm we head back outside if the weather is agreeable and children are picked up outside, if weather is not agreeable we spend a little more time inside and children are picked up by 4:20pm.  We have different activities each day including Messy art on Thursday, dance party on Fridays.
